Evening all, just got back on the stylus after ages away from it (little tip, buying a house and building a stylus don't mix!). Anyway, I'm trying to make some wheel arch liners for the rear and need to know how much wheel travel to expect. I've still got the straight lower arms on the car, although I'll probably upgrade to bent lower arms/longer shocks eventually. Does anyone know how much more travel I can expect from the longer shocks so I can allow clearance to the liner?

To give you a starting point from which you can assess your own car --- my rears are 250lbs and they deflect around 30mm's under extreme circuit provocation .
With say -- 180's plus passenger , deflection could be around 75mm's , it really does depend on how you're driving the car , particularly through corners
No one I know has inner guards fitted to the rear arches --- some have painted ruberoid substances where stones could fly up from the treads
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !

I think that wheel arch liners on the front are required for SVA and assumed this was the same for the rear, sounds like this isn't the case which saves me a job.

It's a very long time since I SVA'd mine so perhaps you should ask a more recent builder re -- IVA which it now is

i don't have rear wheel arch liners at all on my car. i haven't even painted the arches and also the front i do not have any. only something that attaches the lower part of the bodywork to the chassis rail to stop the body flexing where it was cut for the flip front
