The Caterham was black and sort of splattered with geen paint as though flicked with a brush  Apparently he's building another one with a Honda in it --- bike or car engine , don't know :?:
I expect Kev' will come up against him at some point this season --- SBD Speed series :?: :?:

Was that Dave's Jaguar lap time or did he not enter :?: If he managed 104 sec's then he's getting better :P
I just love the Stylus but she keeps swallowing £££ !

A few pics from Goodwood test day.One shows lifting a wheel in chicane so can't be hanging about  Certainly sounded great coming down the finishing straight :!:

The quick caterham was black with paint splash effect of green and was k series and he said he's bulding a new one with a honda engine to get more power against duratec caterhams  he hopes.

Great pic's Stu ' -- didn't think it was leaning that much but was pulling it in tight rather than letting it drift out towards the rumble

Just heard from Melvin(my cousin) regarding his wedding date --- 26th June , so no playing with Mr Weigold and his GTD40 this year  (TWMC Tonhire sprint)

Measured the steering wheel diameter this morning and it's 320mm's which has been on it since first build in 1999 . Rather than mess about with the rack/2.4 or steering arm length/shortened&lowered (giving me a 1.7) --- I decided to change the steering wheel to a 340mm but at the moment can't find one on Merlin or Demon etc . They either offer 12 , 13 or 14 inch. The 340mm is just a bit in between 13 and 14 inch. Want to keep it simple and stay with the mountney so no need to change the ' boss '

Don't want wood rim because it's way too narrow to grip securely even with race gloves. I wet the fingers and palms of mine as it is , just to get max control :)

Taken a chance that I may not get on with it and ordered the 14 inch Mountney leather black spoke ---------- that works out at an 18mm's greater radius / hand leverage  We'll see :P

It arrived today 10th April , ordered only yesterday lunchtime :) Fitted now and works out at 1.9 turns lock to lock --- should be much lighter to handle 8)

Still too small -- I've got 320mm's now plus it would mean more cash for another boss  Bought a new trailer tyre yesterday and fitted that @ £43 plus repaired the mudguard which got ripped off when the tyre burst. The tyre looked like a frilly ladies hat with almost no rubber on it , just wires and cord  Half the mudguard disappeared into the lorry following me so I sikaflexed a piece of alloy around it the pop riveted it for good measure. The water would spray up over the car though with no rim , so cut a piece of old pond butyl liner and sikaflexed that around the edge :P
NOT a pretty sight BUT cheaper than a new one  Still got to sort the left side arch space on the Stylus too

By the time I've sorted everything , the Goodwood day plus consequent alterations and repairs trailer/Stylus --- will be over £300 not counting the DTC30's

Consider myself very lucky to have sorted the Stylus arch this afternoon without any f/glass cutting through the nice shiny paint work :D I intended to bring up the passenger side flip hinge by adjusting the rodend/pivot but expected it would put all the closing pins out of alighnment BUT it didn't -- well not much anyway  A little ' force ' sorted it

Managed a 1st in class although not at my PB lap time . Larger wheel certainly helped the effort but observers tell me I wasn't as aggressive exiting the chicane  Anyway , it was enough to stop the Space framed Escort 260bhp  on bigger slicks this time by a decent margin . Not sure how bigger margin as we didn't get a time card so I'll have to look it up on their website later.Marty Bailey managed to get the bhp out of him , obviously he didn't realise Marty was connected to me
Thanks to all who gave me moral support ---- Marty , Matt , Stuart Parley , Rod Styles , Ross and some of my relations :D
Matt particularly for umbrella '' hot '' duty  and generally running around for me

Didn't get to compete this event last year because the Stylus was still not fully repaired but did win it the year before 2008 :P
