I'd already decided to black behind the lenses as they were before when the lights were in place. Since fitting the lenses though I've come to quite like them showing the body colour so I'm leaving it for now 8)

Very pleased with the job Joe Middleton's done and he said he barely had to touch the arch extensions they were so smooth :D

RE- light covers , did you mean '' did I get any '' :?: Yes and sold them apart from a set for myself. OR ------ did you mean have I heard whether the two left handed ones he put with the pack I bought , can be paired up :?: If the latter --- no not heard a thing

I've glued the heat matting to the underside today and covered it with reflective ' bling ' Serves a real purpose with it being just 2mm's fibre glass but looks a touch flashy too 8)

Can't wait to get in the damn car now --- the 27th of June's a looong way off

Hi Rob

It was about the two left hand ones.

The 27th will come round quickly closely followed by the 28th when I'm of on holiday to drink some of the french wine and do nothing for 2 weeks.

Hopefully , that's the end of your head gasket woe's  Looking forward to seeing Jenson at Silverstone :P

Although the Stylus is finished now , I seem to keep remembering things that ought to be looked at , so am still fettling  If it was road registered I'd be out giving it a trial with the new set-up

Abingdon marshalling tomorrow on my usual spot ---- the last bend before the finish on the Abingdon course :D This corner sorts the men from the boys  Flat in top if the nerves hold

looking great Rob - but I thought I remember somewhere that a fine mesh restricts air flow quite badly, I think you're supposed to go 1/2" or more....?

Well it's 6mm square holes of 1mm diam' wire which is what I've always had without a problem . If you use 1/2 inch or more you totally defeat the object of a grill at all . Anything that can get through that will either block or bust your radiator
 I regularly took bees , flys , moths etc etc from the grill --- just imagine what a stone small enough to pass through 1/2 an inch wire would do to the rad' at 100 mph plus
You probably didn't notice the old grill because I painted it mat black

Finally sorted the ' MSA Tow hook ' requirement :) Used Kevin's idea , using tow strapping but with the hook end velcro'd onto the underside of the front valance  Having a grill made it awkward to velcro it on the inside of the grill valance ---- the scrutineers would probably moan about trying to reach it from behind in a hurry
Just have to hope the velcro holds it tight so's it doesn't drop off at speed and flail around whopping the radiator  The male velcro is SIKAFLEXED onto the strapping then the female strip is SIKAFLEXED onto the fibre glass --- paint roughened up first  The velcro area is about 25mm x 75mm --- we'll find out on Saturday
